While most people trying to lose weight are following the
diet route, there is a much more effective long-term method of achieving the
weight loss you want along with a fitter, slimmer and more toned body. This can
actually only be accomplished through exercise, as it is an exercise that
forces muscles to do work that not only burns calories and excess fat, but
strengthens and tones the parts of the body where they go for the exercises.

Much better is to vary the exercises so that all areas of
your body get part of the training. Better still is to find exercises that
target the whole body, such as swimming. In the gym, you would need to do a
gadget circuit to work all the different muscle groups, although elliptical
trainers are very good at targeting different areas. This can be mixed with
some time on the treadmill, stepper machine, and rowing machine to work your
legs, torso, and upper body.

rewarding, fun and varied is swimming. By doing a variety of different strokes
and swimming various lengths of the pool on each visit, increasing each time,
you will target all muscle groups fairly evenly and it won't feel like a
workout. Sure, you will get tired and you can also experience muscle aches,
especially in the early days, but this is a form of exercise that is very easy
to do, can be combined with a little fun and the best part is that you don't
end up sweating like you do. You would do in a gym.

To burn fat through exercise, the best way to do this is to
include some cardiovascular exercise in your daily routine. It doesn't have to
be the only thing you do, but on the other hand, if you don't do anything else,
do cardiovascular exercise in nature. This is the type of aerobic exercise that
increases your heart rate, your respiratory rate and forces you to sweat and
breathe hard. You should maintain this level of exercise for a reasonable
period of time to make it as good as possible, which is usually 20 minutes or
more.

The benefits are that after 20 minutes, your body is forced
to start using up its fat reserve to provide the muscles with the fuel they
need. This fuel is initially supplied by sugars in the bloodstream, but over
time these sugars become depleted and need to be replaced to allow the muscles
to continue working. The replacement comes from the body's fat reserve, so if
you want to burn fat, continue for more than 20 minutes.
